Such interesting information about the Saunas. Both me and my partner loves saunas and would love to have one at home. Currently we are lucky enough to use the one in the local Leisure Centre which is just a few min walk away.

I grew up in Sweden, where there also is a sauna culture, but not as strong as in Finland, it was interesting to hear not only of the benefits but also that the Finns who have emigrated brought their sauna culture with them!

Thank you for sharing, Linn! Love that you have access to a sauna within walking distance. That’s fabulous! The sauna culture here is strong and I’m grateful for those who brought it with them. I can’t imagine life without one now, haha ❤️

Hi Michelle! Thanks for your article. We have a sauna at home and we try do use at least 3 times a week. But it is a wet sauna, not like the finnish style dry sauna. Can I considere the benefits the same? Or there is any contraindication for the wet one?

Best regards,

Gardel

Hi Gardel! Thank you for reading and your question. From this lecture, my understanding is that the health benefits are achieved by reaching the target temp + duration. If the wet sauna is run more like a steam room (with temps 110-120F), it would be less effective. The same restrictions/contraindications apply.

Hi Michelle! I can't wait to here more updates from your conference. Also, it's fun to learn about the sauna culture there. I sure wish I had one in my backyard.

Thank you for sharing, Annie! Although I highlighted summer usage, my favorite is a sauna after xc skiing! You've got the perfect set-up for one! :)
